* Oxfam has offered to host a learning journey prior to SFL meeting in Guatemala. The learning journey will explore the role of market access as part of a livelihood project by Oxfam in Honduras. Visits would include sites in Nicaragua and a very interesting regional market project in El Salvador. The objective is for a small business oriented group, through field visits and focused conversation, to (a) learn about Oxfam’s sustainable livelihoods framework and approach to development, (b) take a systemic look at the role of market access links and discuss domestic trading (national and intra-regional) initiatives, and export strategies, and (c) set the foundation for specific collaborations moving forward among SFL members and regional actors.
